Forbes entertainment contributor, Gary Suarez, took an in-depth look at the Brooklyn Drill scene during the COVID-19 pandemic in a feature article published on May 8, 2020. In the piece, he lays out the current landscape of New York rap - citing Sheff and Sleepy as two early-movers and influential artists on the scene.

He goes on to predict that quarantine may be creating a whole lot of pent up demand for these exciting young artists - and when restrictions are lifted we can expect to see at least a few of them level up and enter the stratosphere. Not sure about anyone else, but we definitely fall into the category of “impatiently waiting for outside to open back up” (so we can go sleep Sheff and Sleepy perform).

Despite quarantine, artists are staying busy and releasing music. From Sleepy, we’ve gotten the harrowing “Deep End Freestyle” with more music on the way. And from Sheff, we’ve gotten “Moody” and the follow up to his early smash, “No Suburban Pt. 2” - both off his highly anticipated upcoming project, One and Only dropping this Friday, May 15th.
