The Playground Meets: Pitt Tha Kid

Toronto-based DJ & Multi Platinum Producer Pitt Tha Kid recently released his debut track, “Run” featuring Lil Wayne and Taleban Dooda. The Barbados-raised producer has accomplished a lot in a short amount of time, including co-producing “Kill Em With Success” with Mike Will Made It featuring 2 Chainz and Schoolboy Q for the Creed 2 soundtrack . From there, Pitt went on to produce ‘“Pass” on Jaden Smith’s EYRS EP. After that, Pitt went on to work with YNW Melly and YNW BSlime - including work on Melly’s Melly Vs. Melvin, which debuted at number 7 on Billboard, Pitt Tha Kid’s second Billboard appearance in 2020. Pitt made his Billboard debut earlier in the year working on Young Thug’s album So Much Fun', producing the song “Boy Back” featuring Nav. Pitt also co-produced Pop Smoke’s "Creature" featuring Swae Lee on his platinum album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon. Pitt’s new single is sure to be as successful as his previous hit and he’s joined us today to fill us in on what he’s been up to.
In our interview, Pitt discusses how long he’s been making music and how he initially started rapping before making beats. He needed beats to rap on so he began making his own. Pitt mentions he’s been taking music seriously for the past 5 years now.
Pitt discusses his first major placement with Lloyd Banks and working with Young Thug and Jaden Smith. Pitt says working with Young Thug changed his life.

Growing up Pitt was inspired by Metro Boomin and his work with Future and the OVO camp. Pitt talks about how he used to listen to EDM and how he has the ability to genre bend.
